Drug Distribution System

Emergency trolley is a mobile trolley which contains the drugs that needed or used during the emergency situation. The drugs prepared in the trolley are usually for the acute treatment and the drugs are including of life saving medications or those for resuscitation purpose. Emergency trolley is operated for office hour and non-office hour. On a daily basis, the in-charge nurse should check the trolley and ensure that all medications stored in the trolley are in good condition and has not expired.

While the emergency trolley is a mobile unit contains the drugs that needed or used frequently during emergency cases. The drugs prepared in the trolley are usually for the acute treatment and the drugs are depending on the different needs of the ward. Emergency trolley is operated for office hour and non-office hour.

The procedures for supplying emergency trolley medications are as follow.

• Receive medication order book from the ward/unit
• Check balance of floor stock/ emergency trolley medications
• Record the quantity supplied in the order book
• Supply medication according to the recorded quantity
• File the original copy of the order book.
