Prior to collection of medications, nurses will check the supply received and informs the pharmacist if there is any discrepancy. It is the responsibility of nurses to perform bedside administration to patients and records it in the Medication Chart (yellow carbon copy).
- Pharmacist checks patients’ drawers upon return of the trolley.
Each morning when medication trolley are returned to the pharmacy unit, pharmacist should check for balance of medication in the drawer and perform reconciliation accordingly.

In most of the local general hospitals, satellite pharmacists are not responsible for bedside discharge dispensing; this role is taken by pharmacist at the main pharmacy which is operating on 24 hour basis.
