Only a limited number of frequently used medications and emergency medications can be stocked at wards. The list of medications is produced based on the mutual agreement between the pharmacy and the ward. Nurses should ensure that the amount of floor stock / emergency trolley items is always more than the minimum quantity stated and not exceeding the maximum quantity allowed. This list will be reviewed periodically by the pharmacy department. The procedures for medications refill for floor stock and emergency trolley are as below:
1. Receive medication order book from the ward
2. Check the balance of floor stock / emergency trolley medications
3. Record the quantity supplied in the order book
4. Supply medication according to the recorded quantity
5. File the original copy of the order book
