From time to time, pharmacist will perform ward inspection whereby spot-check will be performed to monitor the medication storage; expiry dates; labels of medication; storage including the refrigerated items; availability of emergency drugs; trolley conditions; appropriate use, storage and records of psychotropic substance; and removal of unnecessary stock. If problems are detected in inspection, the pharmacy officer will report to the head of nurses for corrective actions. Ward checking is an important process as it ensures safe and quality use of medications for patients.
